![]() ![]() Amazon did not state which additional devices would be covered in future implementation of the feature, however it’s safe to say that most Apple iOS and Android OS devices will eventually get support–along with any set-to-boxes debuting later this year. ![]() This places Amazon well behind competitors Hulu and Netflix, who have been catering to the hearing impaired for a while now. Currently users must stream the content through their PC to get the “CC” functionality working, but again the content is very with just 169 television shows and a paltry 74 movies available at the launch of the feature. Videos marked with the familiar “CC” symbol will be streamed with a closed captioned option and support for additional devices is in the works. The announcement, which made earlier this month via a press release detailed the prudent information on the new feature, however the availability of content with closed captioning is quite slim to say the least. Amazon is finally joining the likes of Hulu and Netflix and the rest of the television streaming industry and will be adding closed captions to some of its Instant Video content. ![]()
